Good game GG!
My bears made me immortal plz help
Cool game. But a little too repetitive. Got 300 score from bears. BEARS. So many bears.
At one point during development, any time the player did something they weren't supposed to do in the tutorial, the message "BEARS" would float up from the mouse cursor :-D
Really love the theme and basic design!
Same basic complaint as the other commenters: On my first character I had a farm setup that lasted too many years --- no more need to plan, and a grind to replant the same things every year. If there was a way to "replant" automatically every spring, it wouldn't be such a grind to plant x 15 times then next season x4. I think the shrine having exponential buffing power is a little too strong, Alternative would be tweaking the balance so it's not possible without cross generation planning. Ex, shrines that remain in place grow in power, or the possibility of building more powerful shrines on top of boulders.
Yes, we pretty much agree the balance is off, and would like to make the cross generational buffs matter more. I also think that we would need to improve communication about the game mechanics, and provide better in game feedback about what is changing season to season.
I would have liked to add a replant option for the spring but time limitations make that infeasible.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment.
Folklore theme yes. I think the resource indicators could be a little slower so I could see what was happening, but I got used to it after a few seasons. In-game volume slider would be nice. I really enjoyed the dialogue. I think it's rough that the better you are at the game, the less frequently you get to experience it. I had to nuke my farm so I could find out how radical my time was on the farm, but then I struggled to maintain the bears again so I could benefit from bear setup for next generation. Unintended gameplay loop where I try to figure out how to end the run on purpose so I can get my regulated intake of fun dialogue while also setting up my next run. Long story short, I ended my run with 6559 bear power, but 17 bear farms had to die. Only 2 bear farms benefitted from quadruple shrine buff.
Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, I suppose if you're looking for the next dialog, it is in your best interest to not try to succeed too well and skip ahead. That's a little unfortunate, but I'm very impressed you got as far as you did!
Wow. I didn't expect such a quick reply.
Worth a play! It's a fun little game. I like how it brings together mystic folklore and a functional farming technique. I got to 199 before my score started to go down again and I felt the desire to take a break or begin to actually strategize. Games don't usually hold my attention for long, especially small ones, so I'm pleased this held my attention through several generations. I still have curiosity about the in-game "future." The music, aesthetics, and controls are are all excellent, in my opinion.
Thank you :-). I am glad the game appealed to you.
heart warming. thank you!!
